Multi-media artist Doug Aitken’s innovative artworks lead viewers into a world where time, space and memory are fluid concepts. His body of work ranges widely from photography and sculpture to video works and installations.

Aitken is internationally known for large-scale installations, including “SLEEPWALKERS” at MoMA in 2007, which transformed an entire block of Manhattan into an expansive cinematic experience. In Greece in 2011, Aitken’s “BLACK MIRROR” engaged a site-specific multi-channel video installation and a live theater performance on a uniquely designed floating barge.

His 2012 installation “SONG 1” wrapped the Hirshhorn Museum in Washington DC in 360-degree panoramic video projections. “MIRROR”, Aitken’s urban earthwork at the Seattle Art Museum in 2013, transformed the museum’s exterior into a living kaleidoscope, utilizing hundreds of hours of footage changing in real time in response to movements and life around it.
